Staff and Directors

Republic is a democratic organisation, governed by a Board of Directors who are elected each year from among the membership and managed by paid staff and volunteers.

Meet the team

Gareth Robson Gareth Robson was appointed Executive Chair in July 2010 and has been on the Board since October 2007. He has also chaired Republic's Policy and Strategy Committee since January 2008. His background is in IT and languages.

Emily Robinson Emily Robinson was elected to the Board in October 2006 and became Vice Chair in July 2010. Emily is an academic with Goldsmiths, University of London.

Suzanne Campbell Suzanne Campbell (Treasurer) joined Republic's Board in 2002. Suzanne is an independent financial advisor as well as being an experienced political activist in Wales.

Graham Smith Graham Smith is Republic's Campaign Manager and Executive Officer, and has worked full-time for the organisation since mid-2005. Graham's background is in party political campaigning and the corporate sector. He has held the post of Campaign Manager since mid 2005.

James Gray James Gray is a research volunteer and member of the Policy and Strategy Committee. He was formerly Republic's full-time Development and Membership Manager, responsible for recruitment and fundraising. James worked for Republic from March 2008 to June 2010. His background is in the charity sector.

Other directors have backgrounds in business, finance, academia, IT and political campaigning. They represent the full spectrum of political opinion and social backgrounds and ages range from mid-twenties to early seventies.
